Conducted research on waste management: evaluation of char, fly ashes and other carbon-rich residues toxicity, and their valorization as adsorbent (activated carbons and biochar) precursors.
Adsorption of pharmaceutical compounds from solution using waste-derived activated carbons.
Use of biochars as support for the controlled release of nutrients and soil amendment.
Textural characterization by adsorption, morphological, and surface chemistry characterization and evaluation of adsorbents characteristics (e.g. , volatile matter content and ash content) on materials performance, aiming for a deeper understanding of pharmaceuticals adsorption (activated carbons) and nutrients controlled release (biochar) mechanisms.
